45! It’s very exciting. Almost the end of the year.
Liz:
I know, but we’re not there yet. We’re not done.
Doug:
Not there yet. What’s going on with you this week Liz? Is it a busy week for you or is it a light week?
Liz:
No, it’s actually pretty relaxing. I’ve been sitting back kicking my feet up. I mean, it’s been pretty boring. Yeah, yeah. That’s my sarcasm. Yeah. I think everybody’s been busy this week. Hopefully people listening have been just as busy packaging up sales and yeah. Getting their shipments off to their customers and being able to take care of themselves too.
Doug:
Well, and you know, I’m the mertinie.nercantile shipping department, so I’ve been shipping aprons like crazy daily. Pretty much daily. So today’s pretty much the cutoff, but she’s still getting people. “Can I get this by Christmas?” And you know how that’s gonna go? You know, there’s signs at the post office saying, you know, “we can’t guarantee we’ll do our best,” but what are you gonna do, Liz? You just, just try to do your best.
Liz:
You do your best. Just be honest with customers. You know what, unless we do overnight express, there’s probably no guarantee there isn’t a guarantee. I’ve had to tell a couple customers this week. They’re like, “will it get here by Christmas?” Yeah. “I don’t know, know be prepared for it not to be,” but I will say this for shipping Doug. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with USPS with how many shipments I’ve made. Even my First Class stuff is getting there in a reasonable amount of time.
Doug:
Oh, that’s good. All right.
Liz:
Yeah. I only have like two, two out of a lot that have taken more than six or seven days that are still enroute.
Doug:
What’s the biggest item you’ve sold and what’s the littlest? Not price. Just what’s the item?
Liz:
Probably…I’m trying to think. I know. I just packaged something that I had to Frankenbox and I can’t remember what it was just this week. I just Frankenboxed an American Girl doll that I sold on Kidizen.
Doug:
Nice.
Liz:
My smallest was a pair of earrings that sold on Poshmark.
Doug:
There you go. Interesting.
Liz:
Yeah. And you aprons aprons, aprons, aprons…
Doug:
I still gotta list my stuff.
Liz:
That’s awesome. You know, when I think about when you sell one of the same thing, it has to make packaging easier…
Doug:
Pretty close. I mean, pretty close in weight and measurement. And then, you know, I’ve got my little system–Pirate Ship, that’s Mer’s stuff, my stuff I’ve got my five bins, three are stuff to list and two are stuff to sell, in my List Perfectly catalog. So I gotta get those back out there, but we’ve got, I gotta get that stuff back out there. Finn, my son is gonna start working for us again. And apparently he’s gonna start listing for his friend, Brian who is the shoe seller. So we’ll see. So hopefully, you know, after the holidays we’ll get stuff more dialed in.
Liz:
Yeah. My picture taker now his part-time job has pretty much turned full-time plus. So he keeps getting called in and he’s like, “I’ll take the hours.” So yeah, he has no time to take pictures for me. And I think I’m gonna take a break when my oldest son comes home.
Doug:
You should.
Liz:
Oh yeah.

Definitely. Should we get into it then?

So this week we spoke with pinkdivastudio, Rhonda Renfro, about her selling niche, which is interesting, her growth, her involvement in the community. She’s big on Poshmark, social media, and she loves tacos and I love tacos. You know what tacos are right? There in Colorado? They’re those little like…do you have ’em there? I forget. <laugh>
Liz:
Yes we do. I won’t say anything bad, but I’ve had better tacos, better places other than California. However, the best tacos are in my own house. <laugh> We do actually make them at home a lot. Yeah. As a matter of fact, after I listen to this episode, I might go make tacos for dinner tonight.
Doug:
I like Colorado. And we’ve talked about this before but you Californiaize food there. So it’s like, you can add an avocado and it’s California style.
Liz:
Doug. Do you know that that’s everywhere? That’s not Colorado. You need to get outta California more.
Doug:
It’s like last week when you, I was so excited about the…”Liz, did you know that the USPS will scan your mail for you and send you an email of what’s coming? It’s so cool this technology!” And <laugh>, and then you’re like, “yeah, that’s been around…”
Liz:

“…that’s called Informed Delivery, and it’s been around for years” and I’m like, wow, this technology! <Laugh>. But anyway, so we had a great chat with Rhonda, so excited to get to that. What else do we have Liz?
Liz:

All right. We’re excited to have Rhonda Renfro, thepinkdivastudio on the show. And I love her motto. “I’m gonna keep running cuz a winner don’t quit on themselves,” which is also Beyonce’s motto. And Rhonda is thepinkdivastudio. She’s a plus-size reseller. She’s a plus and positive body image coach. She empowers others to love themselves while living out loud. Oh, thank you so much for having me. Of course I already know you Doug, but I’m so happy to meet Liz.
Liz:
I’m happy to meet you too. I wanna be invited to this whole party.
Rhonda:
To the soap opera, taco, Ice coffee party. You’re in, you’re in. I love it. I, yes, I love it. And Doug, I still watch General Hospital to this day, Bold and the Beautiful and Young and the Restless. So I’m in it to win it with the soap opera.
Doug:
<laugh> that’s good to know. All right. Well, we might have to have a separate episode about soap operas. So Rhonda, you are thepinkdiva. So tell us how that name came about.
Rhonda:
Well, that name came about because my friends say that I’m so bougie <laugh> and they called me diva here, diva this and it just kind of stuck as a nickname amongst my smaller circle and I love the color pink. And so when I was thinking of a name, I thought, okay, pink diva. And for some odd reason, I just like the word studio, you know, I don’t know why. I think that when I had my nail business, I thought that it sounded chic. You that studio. So I just tag the studio onto it and it is pinkdivastudio or thepinkdivastudio. So it just works. It kind of flows.
Liz:
And here I am, I see thepinkdivastudio and I follow you on Instagram and I follow the Brunch With Diva and it fits because I see you as like your studio.
Rhonda:
Liz, you get me!
Liz:
I get it. I thought that’s what that meant. Like she’s got the stage, and it works.
Rhonda:
That’s what it is, maybe I just love being front and center. Okay we won’t share that. No, we can share <laugh> it’s the only child syndrome. I’m an only child, so…
Liz:
Ohhhhhh…nice.
Rhonda:
So that might explain a lot.
Liz:
So I wanna get in to talk about you and being a reseller and being in the reseller community. But take me back just a little bit before that and tell us what you did before you sold online and tell us how you found online selling.
Rhonda:
Okay. So we’ll do the Cliff Notes on this for <laugh> for over 25 plus years, I was a nail technician. And so of course, you know, after I started having knee problems and I had to kind of, you know, exit my way out of that, after that, just kind of concentrating on getting certified in certain things. I went to barber college. I started my bachelor’s during this time. I did a lot of things and my dad ended up being sick. I lost both my parents within a year and a month of each other. And so I really dug into school, went through so fast forward, went through some things, my marriage ended and I ended up having to live with one of my best friends and her family. She was the one, her name is April and April was the one that said, why don’t you get rid of these bags?
Rhonda:
Because I had weight loss surgery, I lost over 200 plus pounds. I had like seven bags of my big clothes as I call them. And that’s how I came to be on Poshmark. So Poshmark, I definitely have to give credit because Poshmark really kinda saved me. Because after everything ended, I was just like, “Ugh,” but Poshmark allowed me to pay off a lot of debt and it’s actually allowed me, it allowed me to be able to move outta my friend’s home, move into my own space. It allowed me to create the life that I deserve and want and I’m still in the middle of that. And through that I’ve created other avenues. Poshmark will always be BAE for me.
Doug:
You specialize in plus sized fashion. So tell us how this niche is unique. And we kind of know how you got into it, but touch on that a little bit for us too.
Rhonda:
I’ve always been a plus size girl. I’ve always been thicker than a snicker, but <laugh> but you know, after losing 200 plus pounds I did have all of these big clothes. The key for me is to do something that you know. First, it’s okay to learn other things. But I think that if we do what we know and what I know is plus sizes, because I’ve been in 16s, 18s, pretty much, most of my life I’ve been in 22, 24s, I’ve been in 30, 32. I’ve been in higher than that, extended sizes as we call them. So plus sizes is what I know plus size brands are what I know because when I first started y’all I was so happy to go to the bins cuz I had never heard of the bins. I was happy to go, but I was just tossing. Like I was just tossing clothes all over the place.
Rhonda:
<laugh> like, I don’t take this and this and this and this. And I learned really fast that I cannot sell smalls and mediums. And I ended up getting rid of all of those and passed them on to a new reseller who was starting. From that point on, I just curated my closet for plus sizes, extended sizes. And I do have, you know, large, extra large XSL, which is not a two X. Let’s not get it confused. Right? <laugh> all the time. It’s not the same. They are not the same. That’s kinda how I niche down because I one found out I can’t sell anything smaller. Two I’m doing what I know and that there’s a need for right. You know, plus size is a billion dollar business. You know, we don’t mind spending our money on good quality clothes. So that’s kind of how I niche everything down and I love selling plus size clothes. I love them. People ask me about how to list it or is this a plus size? No, that’s not a plus size and I’ve even talked to Poshmark about it. You know, you just have to be a little bit more specific, right? Because that’s where sometimes that’s where people get caught up is trying to list something.
Doug:
So it’s kind of knowledge, but passion for you.
Rhonda:
I’m definitely passionate about all things plus size, representation, inclusion. I’m very passionate about that.
Doug:
And kind of tying into that passion is the Curvy Chronicles podcast. So tell us a little bit about that and how you tie it back into what you do.
Rhonda:
That is really my baby, that podcast came about because of my marriage ending. I used to ask this question, “is it my weight? Is it cuz I’m fat? Is it my weight? Is it cuz I’m fat?” You know, I never could get an answer. When I first released it, the title was Is it Cuz I’m Fat? And then I realized that this was my anger speech. I changed it midstream to Curvy Chronicles. And the reason that I did that is I wanted to give a platform to curvy, I’ll say curvy women, because I don’t think I call any men curvy men, but you know, curvy women so that they could share their stories with disabilities, with being judged at work. I have people on there who aren’t necessarily curvy, but they’ve been discriminated against on their jobs.
Rhonda:
Been forced to be this size so that they could keep their jobs, have someone else on there whose family who’s a parent used to ride them “Don’t eat that. You’re gonna be fat. Don’t eat that. You’re gonna be fat. You’re gonna be fat. You’re gonna be fat.” And so I wanted to give women a place to come and share their stories because whether we believe it or not, somebody needs to hear it. You know, somebody needs that. Somebody needs to hear that story. One of my PFFs said, “oh my God, this is amazing. This helped me understand what my mother was going through with her weight loss and her size.” That made me feel amazing because that’s all I want to hear is that it’s helping someone. Someone reached out to me the other day and said, “when are you adding more people?”
Rhonda:
And I’m like, I’m gonna do it this weekend because I’m wrapping it up. That’ll be my first season. But I think that it ties in to what I do because of course it’s women empowering other women to tell their stories, which I’m all for as well as, you know, letting them know that it’s okay to share your story. It’s okay to feel a certain way, but I want you to learn. And I want you to know that you can live out loud. You can be proud of yourself. You can be proud of your body. And if you want to change your body, then you do that. But you don’t need to feel the pressure from other people telling you that you need to change your body. I changed for me. I changed to save my life. I weighed 464 pounds being on eight different medications, you know, my body hurting, but you know what? I took matters into my own hands. And like I like to tell people is that I was breathing, but I wasn’t living. So I want these women to know and have the space to tell their stories and let them know you don’t just have to exist. It’s safe for you to live out loud and live the life that you deserve and that you want. So that’s what I always try to, you know, keep in the forefront when I’m speaking with someone.
Liz:
This isn’t about selling stuff on Poshmark because your clothes no longer fit. It’s a passion. You sell on other platforms other than Poshmark. Have you been able to branch out or do you like to stay right with the Poshmark platform?
Rhonda:
Poshmark will always be BAE, but I think that we do have to step out on faith and try other things. And I do sell on Mercari as well. I recently just started selling on Facebook Marketplace and you know, I’m entering this zone of eBay. I wanted to at least give it a try and say that I did it every time I steer in that direction or the time that I tried, by the time I got to a certain portion, I was like, “oh my God.” I mean, “all these questions, why are you asking all these questions? I’m like next you’ll need my blood type.” But you know, I want to, you know, just step out and try it and give it a try to see how it goes. I did have a couple of people who, you know, helped me.
Rhonda:
I could go and ask them questions. Uh, Terry, Bob, and Always is really great. We stayed on the phone the other day and the shipping is really the thing for me. And I got kind of caught up with that and she said, “this is how I do it.” And she, you know, screenshared and she showed me. I was like, “oh, okay.” Got it. Because for me, it’s easier on the app on my phone than it is on the computer. After she showed me how she did it on the phone, I was like, “oh, I got this.” You know, so I have a few things that are active right now. I’m hoping to get everything on there by the end of the month, it is a new adventure. And I’m looking forward to connecting with other eBay sellers on this journey of eBay that I have embarked on.
Rhonda:
And, I’m looking forward to making connections with eBay sellers. Like I say, you can naturally find your flow after a while, but sometimes, you know, as good to get here from other people, you know, you may take a pinch here and take a pinch here and then you shush it up and make it work for you.
Liz:
I wanna know how you found the community or did the community just happen?
Rhonda:
I actually found the community through another PFF and I ended up in this group, I ended up being, taking a part in this thing that someone was putting together, like she had different challenges, challenges all the time. And so that’s kind of how I eased my way into it. And then I joined Leslie’s group that she had at the time. And that’s really, when I started meeting a lot of different people, especially the people that were in the group, we were active all the time and we communicated with each other all the time.
Rhonda:
And then, you know, you meet one person and their community, you meet their community and this and that. And we all end up following and boom, you know, that’s kind of how it grew. I don’t know, to this day, people say to me about, well, your community, blah, blah. And I’m thinking I don’t have a community. I mean, we’re all in the same community. And I hear people say that all the time. And I said it a moment ago, just jokingly, but I don’t really think of it like, I have a community. I just think that we’re all in this community. And basically the community is amazing. I mean, you could put a question out there and you’ll get, you know, I don’t know how many different answers from, I don’t know how many different people or you can DM someone and ask them a question for the most part.
Rhonda:
There is just not a community like that who will welcome you and are so giving. Now I have heard that eBay, you know, it’s a community, it is like that. So I’m hoping to ease my way in and meet some good people and fun people who like tacos, ice coffee and so on. I don’t like using the word tribe. So I just say my peeps or my cousins. Right, right. I just think that they’re my peops, they’re on my journey. And I appreciate anyone who joins the journey and I’m always like, “thanks so much for joining my journey. Thanks so much for riding with me.” I’m an equal opportunity friend, you know? So I, I love, ’em all like I love tacos. It’s just, I think that it’s important to have a community. I think it’s important to have people that you can reach out to, or if someone reaches out to you, you can be there for them.
Rhonda:
And sometimes when people say stuff to me, they don’t necessarily ask me. But if I know, I say, if “I don’t know,” I’ll find it and connect. So I just think that that’s what the community is about. It’s about helping. It’s about giving, you know, giving of yourself and your time, if you have that time to, if you have that time to give. So that’s how I am about community. I just look at it as just, you know, a lot of homies, a lot of cousins, you know, they’re my peops. And you know, we just, we’re doing the same. We’re doing probably the absolute same steps as you just said, a moment ago, Liz, our journeys may be the same until a certain point. And we have our businesses sushed up the way that works for us.
Doug:
You’re an active content creator. You’re very active on social. So you and I had a little friendly chat the other day on Friday just to get to know each other. And you brought up something that I love that so few sellers I think use, you talked about Pinterest and how you wanted to spread the word about Pinterest use and how it can be useful to sellers. So talk about Pinterest for us a little bit.
Rhonda:
Pinterest…myself and Tina from slenderlilyposh held a Pinterest business zoom, and it was really great. It was really great, but we are holding another one. Hopefully next month, I’m desperately looking for someone who can come and really get to the meat and potatoes of Pinterest and help us. It is such an important, I mean, it’s a search engine, number one. When I first got on Pinterest, I’ve been on Pinterest a long time. It was just like little, they’re just like little vision boards to me because you can find any and everything over there. If you wanna know how to cook, you can cook. If you need a keto, you need Whole 30, you need to know about hair, makeup, nails, interior couches, whatever it is you want to know is on Pinterest. And there’s so many fashion options. So why not have your business have a Pinterest business account, grow your Pinterest business over, your Poshmark or whatever platform you’re on over there.
Rhonda:
It’s set up on Poshmark to add to Pinterest, make sure to have that on. So when you do your listing, when I do my listing, my listing goes straight to Pinterest, to my Pinterest board straight over there to my Poshmark board. If I’m sharing someone’s closet or items from their closet, I shared a Pinterest, you know, because I think that the more that you share your items, you can grow yourself. I have made a sale off of Pinterest. So you know, now that I’m back at it, I do it every day, every day, I’m listing, shooting it to Pinterest because people do go and search for items on there. And if you’re on there enough, I do know that you know, that old algorithm will shoot you here. Shoot you there, show your things and the idea pins that they have now, I just made a video the other day talking about my eyelashes. I put that on Pinterest. Did I put that on there last night? Yes. So it’s already generated some views and I can tell when, you know, someone is new from my account because people do follow. People do look, and then if they’re, they’ve come over to my Poshmark closet and I’ve had someone say, I found you on Pinterest. We gotta include Pinterest in our day today. It’s just like any other form, really? You feed the beasts, but it’s easy to do. And then even when I’m not listing, I’ll still go over there and kind of engage, share this pin, share that pin, or create an idea pin or whatever. And I think those idea pins are amazing simply because they’re just like little short videos or little short pics that you can put up there and then you just go and watch other people and they’ll come back and watch yours.
Rhonda:
I like sugar skulls. So I go in there type in sugar skulls. I do. I like that. First one. It’ll tell you to create a board boom, baddabing, baddaboom board. It’s pinned from there. It’s easy peasy. You start out with stuff that you like to look for, or if you might wanna make over your living room, like I’m looking to do, okay. There’s furniture, there’s different ideas. You know, whatever you type in there, it’s gonna show you. And it’s easy peasy. Don’t put that pressure on yourself. I’m gonna tell you, this is how I felt about eBay, but <laugh>, But I tell you, just go in there and be relaxed about it. Like on a Saturday you have nothing. Let me just pull up Pinterest, get you an account going. And next thing I wanna hear Liz is that you’re following me on Pinterest.
Liz:
<laugh> I’ve got you. You’ll be my first person now. I think I do have a Pinterest account cuz I tried something once and I didn’t understand it. So I just left it alone. But the thing is I’m always willing to learn.
Rhonda:
By being such an amazing search engine you can find everything you want over there. And there are so many people on Pinterest every single day. Why not include your business over there to be seen to be spotlighted or whatever it’s going to bring to you because you just never know. Now I’m not gonna say you gonna get a gaggle of sales, right? But even if you make a few sales, that’s a few sales more than you make.
Doug:
And what a lot of people, especially sellers, don’t realize is that Pinterest has a largely female audience. You are allowed to put a URL so people can click through your pins. That’s something that you cannot do on Instagram. So if so many sellers are on Instagram, but you still can’t put a URL in your Instagram posts, you can do that on Pinterest and you can track it. And then yes, I don’t know if this metric has changed, but it used to be that of the social media sites, Pinterest had the highest conversion rate of people buying from interacting with posts. But that was before, you know, now you’ve got Facebook marketplace and social commerce and all that.
Liz:
So Rhonda really quick. I do wanna talk about something that you do on Instagram and that is Brunch With Diva. So tell me, how did this start? Who do you interview? What’s your goal? Tell us about Brunch.
Rhonda:
Well, brunchwithdiva darling is <laugh>, you know, I have to say it like that. Brunch with diva <laugh> um, really it got started because I wanted to create something that spotlighted other resellers. Because at that point in time, I think that there was a little buzz in the community about the larger accounts always being focused on and nobody talked about the us little people that made me think like, well, we need something where we can spotlight smaller accounts. And that’s how it grew. I was talking to another PFF and I was like, “I’ve got to, what time? I need a time. I need a topic,” this, that, and the other. And you know, that’s it, it was diva. We, I said, diva, she said diva. And the next thing, she was like, oh, brunch, Brunch With Diva.
Rhonda:
And I was like, that’s it. So, thank you, Trish, trishvan99, for that, that’s kind of how brunchwithdiva was born. I just started reaching out to different people because I know that I love self care. So of course I reached out and I had someone come on and we talked about all of that, but I love people who are doing their own things. They’re just being quiet. They’re just back there. You know, but when I first started, I started interviewing people that I knew and I was comfortable with just to kinda get my feet wet. After that I started reaching farther out and farther out into the community, you know, found some really great people. I mean, I’ve had people who, you know, definitely talk about their reselling business, but who have other businesses that no one even knew, they just create all sorts of things.
Rhonda:
And I love the fact that it allows the people who join me on brunch to see and meet other people that they never even knew about. So you’re putting people together, putting people in touch with other peops and my whole goal is just to spotlight this person, to connect them with people that they don’t know. So I just think the whole point for me is connection because that’s what the community is all about is connecting with one another. So why not, you know, have someone, let’s chit chat. And what I do is allow the person to tell me about themselves. And then I have a portion that I call the meat and potatoes where we get down to some funny stuff, some, you know, personal stuff, but fun stuff. Nothing too heavy.
Liz:
But you’re on TikTok too now, right?
Rhonda:
Oh yeah.
Liz:
How is that going?
Rhonda:
You know, at first it was so much fun for me, and I would just be on TikTok all the time. I was just like, “oh my God, I just I’m on here. I’m here.” I see what my granddaughter loves TikTok. I used to be like, “ah, are you still on there?” But here I am, one or two in the morning. You know, I’m just on. And so a bunch of us decided we wanted to, we were gonna have a thousand followers because then you can go live. Well, I went live once over there, but you know, now I’m getting back into it. I think the thing about TikTok is one, you can’t overthink it. But I do think that you need to know your purpose of being on that. And I, that’s kind of, I think in my mind as a mixture, I give some positive vibes and now I’ve started sharing my reselling stuff over there. So, you know, it’ll be a little bit of a combination thing. I love giving out those positive vibes and you know, I’m just gonna kind of blend the two over there. So that’s kind of what I’ll be doing. I mean, think about reselling, I’ve seen so much, I mean, you could take people shopping with you. It’s pretty much kind of the same stuff that you may put on Instagram. I mean, you know you could use that video, right. And put it on TikTok.
Liz:
So what about List Perfectly resonates with you?
Rhonda:
Let me just say that the very, very first time I tried the Simple Plan and I was like, “okay, well, this is cool.” You know, I have a small closet, so I’m gonna try this out. At that point, I think I barely had 200 active listings. But it was nice. I was like, “okay, well this is cool. This makes it a little faster. I can go ahead and do this,” that and the other, cuz I was just on Poshmark, Mercari, you know. Now that I’ve used the Pro Plan, I was like, “oh, well now this is really helpful” because I was the person who said, “I’m only gonna have like 300 active listings.” Well now I have over 400. And it’s way on up there. But I will tell you that the one true thing sticks with me about List Perfectly is that it saved me so much time.
Rhonda:
It really helped with my time management. And I actually kind of built my time management around List Perfectly. And how I did that was that I was one of those people. Of course, when you first started, you know, you’re just slaving away all hours of the day, all hours of the night, you’re manually listing. That was me manually listing, I’ll list so many hours this, and then later I, this, this, I was just all over the place, but once I did try the Simple Plan, it definitely changed my time management. I was able to really start setting time to how much I was going to work and put into my business. And now that I have the Pro Plan with my favorite tool List Perfectly PhotoRoom <laugh> oh yes. OMG, how easy can that be? To have things in there, be able to remove the background and put in your catalog, all this, all this, and the fact that it’s unlimited in the catalog is fantastic.
Rhonda:
Yeah. And I think that it really helped me to say, okay, now I can go ahead and I can go to my closet, click, click, click, click, click, copy, to List Perfectly badabing, badaboom. I can be over here on my phone and I can go ahead and I can, you know, answer those DMs or work on something else. And come back, “oh, you’re done next batch.” And I just love the ease of it. It’s kinda like you click here, few clicks, walk away. And it really has helped me because I have, I mean, now I’m not sticking to this so much because it’s the holidays but I can stop work at five. And even during my soap opera night at times, cause Monday, Monday through Friday I watch my soap operas at night. I still set it and forget and let it do what it does.
Rhonda:
If you wanna try the Simple Plan, fine. But I will tell you once you have this Pro Plan, you’ll be like, “huh. Simple Plan.” Not that I’m disregarding the Simple Plan, but I’m just saying that the perks that you get with it are so important. And where else is that happening? Oh, nowhere but List Perfectly. I think the Pro Plan is the thing for me because I just want something that’s going to make my job and my business easier and save on that time management. Sometimes you can get interrupted. Anything can happen. You gotta stop doing this. So, oh, now where do I pick up from? No, I don’t have that problem. Here you go. Click, click, click, click. I mean we want and need something that works and helps in our business. I mean I’m 61. I wanna work smarter. Not harder. You cannot beat the customer service. I love the customer service. I don’t think that you can get any better customer service. And I like that. They’re real people, authentic, love that.
Liz:
<laugh> and I can say for meeting the, like the team behind List Perfectly from customer service, everybody is how can we help our customers? It’s not what, what’s the next big thing. What do our customers need? And that’s like the constant that I always hear what we do for you. How can we help you? It is very much about the seller.
Rhonda:
Right? And, and I love the fact that you all resell as well. There are resellers that make up List Perfectly so you understand the struggle. You understand the need, you understand what us resellers right here like speaking about myself would want to use to improve not only my business, but your business as well. So, I mean, I think that that’s key to have a reseller come up with this idea and make it and shush it up when needed, add platforms, whatever it is or other features within that tool. I mean, I love, I love it. I can’t say it enough. I always talk about List Perfectly.
Doug:
That was an, that was an amazing answer. We really appreciate that. And that’s really what we are striving for…
Rhonda:
Yeah. But I mean, that’s just how I feel about it. I, I share as much as I can about List Perfectly. I tell other people about it. If we’re just having a conversation like, well, what’s reselling, you know, how, how are you? How are you? Listen, what’s going on? You know, I always talk about it. So, and I’m happy to do so because one thing about me, if I love a product or if I, you know, I’m gonna talk about it. Yeah. I’m gonna tell your mom <laugh> yeah.

But you know, and honestly we really think that’s the key and you hit a nail on the head–authenticity, connection. We’re all sellers, you know, of different levels. I don’t sell anywhere near what Liz does, but our founders are sellers and we listen to our community. We’re there for the community. We’re there to save you time. You don’t have to spend extra money to get extra listings. You get unlimited listings. You can list multiple things at a time. If you’re listing one at a time, that’s not saving you time. Customer service too. And just the community aspect of what we do. Let’s shift gears. We’re gonna get to the meat and potatoes. What everybody wants to know. Okay.
Liz:
I wanna get to the meat and tortillas.
Doug:

Oh, woo. That’s a huge shush on it. Meat and tortillas.
Doug:
We had tacos last night, by the way. So we know you love pink. We know you’re active on social media. You’re active in your community, but I want to talk with you briefly about your love of tacos.
Rhonda:
OMG. Y’all I have loved tacos, I think forever, but I think that it was <laugh> it was one night decades ago. Cause remember I’m 61. Decades ago, I was leaving the club and nothing was open at that time, but Jack in the Box. Okay. So Jack in the box tacos two for one. I say two for 99 cents. <laugh> two for I’ve been through that drive through <laugh> and I mean, it was just like, and at first I thought, “well, maybe it was because I had a tad too much tequila “<laugh> but those tacos at two in the morning tasted amazing. I was like, what is going on with these tacos? So, you know, I ventured out, I had more of those and then I was like, “oh, maybe I’ll just make some tacos. Made tacos. These things are amazing.”
Rhonda:
Why haven’t I been eating tacos? One of my friends in middle school, her mom used to make us tacos and all this whole Mexican meal for lunch. She lived like five minutes from school. Boom. But, they were amazing. But I was, I just developed this love of tacos. I love, love, love, love, love. My granddaughter says this saying all the time, she’ll call me “Gigi.” “Yes.” “I love tacos.” You know <laugh> so I tell you that I love tacos. I love shrimp tacos, fish tacos. You know, just tacos and it just became a thing on Instagram because on Taco Tuesday, I try to always post something about it. <laugh> and I thought to myself, one day, I thought people probably think I eat tacos every day. Now I did eat tacos last night, but I had nachos.
Doug:
All right. Well that’s good.
Liz:
The cousin!
Rhonda:
Yes, right. As long as it was in the taco family <laugh> I was still good <laugh> but I thought, I, I thought to myself, people probably think I eat so many tacos, but then people will come back and say, “oh, I forgot. I’m having tacos tonight.” Or they’ll tag me in a picture or they’ll DM me a picture, you know? And I said, “oh my God, that is so funny.” But yesterday I posted with the elf, with the tacos, the elf on the shelf so I thought that was hilarious. Everybody loves tacos. Even the elf, everybody loves tacos. I’m like who doesn’t? If you don’t love tacos, I know we can be friends but not good friends.
Doug:
So are they still paired with tequila or is it just…
Rhonda:
Yeah, I do love tequila <laugh> but I don’t. I do not, honestly, I do not drink as much as I did before weight loss surgery. So now I don’t have much of a taste for it, but if I’m out, I’m at a restaurant, tequila. But I used to keep it in my freezer. I’m telling y’all my business, I used to keep it in my freezer, had tequila shots whenever, but I don’t, you know? Yeah. I don’t even keep alcohol. I think I have a bottle of something in the back of my refrigerator, but I don’t…
Liz:

I know, I’m thinking, what do I do, can I run to the store really quick? Do I, do I have what it takes? Now I’m hungry. I’m so happy that I’m like talking to you and not, I mean, I’m happy to text you on Instagram and reply to your posts and like it, but I’m happy we get to have this conversation and I feel like I’ve learned even more about you and I’m so happy that you have come on and talked to us and shared Rhonda with our listeners and with me and with Doug, I wanna know now what’s next for Rhonda what’s next for pinkdivastudio? Or are you on cruise control?
Rhonda:
Well, let me tell you, I will be on cruise slowly coming to a quick halt for the holidays. That’s good. Actually in 2022 what’s for me is of course continuing my podcast, but I’m also, I have also been working really hard on my branding, branding thepinkdivastudio right now. I have my shameless plug I’m having, I have my gingerbread candle in my closet. I commissioned someone, they’re hand poured, soy candles, and people have really been receptive to them, but I want that’s just the first of many things that I have coming. I’m really doing some private labeling. It takes so much research for that, but I have been working on it all this year. And I started out with this candle and the next step will be, you know, a signature lip because of course I wear pink lips all the time.
Rhonda:
When I was a nail tech, I used to make my own sugar scrubs because I felt like the ones that I was buying, just weren’t doing enough. Wasn’t that, you know, it wasn’t personal enough, it felt like manufactured. So I’ve actually been doing tons and tons of research. I have a whole slew of ideas and things like that to just, brand thepinkdivastudio. And I started with my closet. It’s a boutique. I have boutique items now. So I am working hopefully to become a brand on Poshmark. That’s awesome. So I’m bringing a lot of things to the table. I am looking now to book my Brunch With Divas. I’m gonna cut ’em down a little bit. I won’t be doing them weekly. I’ll probably just, I want it to be more special and more informative and fun. So I think that I’ll get that by doing it maybe once a month and I’ll still be hosting events, you know, to learn or just to Posh N Sip, you know, just like I am with Pinterest. So, I mean, there’s a lot of things I have coming up in 2022. I’m always gonna continue to empower. I’m always gonna be passionate about plus sizing and self care. So, you know, I’m just staying true to me.
Liz:

And then Liz, our friends over at List Rank Sell, the eBay SEO experts, shared an interesting video this week.
Liz:
Dave over at List Rank Sell made a post, the Week In Review post, and one of the first things on his post, if you don’t follow, and you’re an eBay seller, go follow List Rank Sell on LinkedIn. You know, they share a lot of great information and I want to, I really wanna sit here and read all of this, cuz I think it’s great information, but we just don’t have time to pack all of this into our podcast. One of the things that really stood out to me and we’ve talked about it, and eBay has talked about in the past is the new storefronts. So because before, you had a storefront, it’s fine, but they have reformatted it. And it is, I feel a nice clean slick look and it does transfer over to mobile. List Rank Sell shared a video, and we will put that down in our show notes to where eBay says that there is a 15% higher probability that eBay buyers will come back after they visit a seller storefront. And that those same buyers spend 35% more money.
Doug:
eBay’s got 26 years of all kinds of crazy insane data. And they are one of the few companies out there that has that much data on buyers and sellers. I think this is legit. It makes sense to me. I mean, if you’ve got a storefront, it gives you some tools and some options and buyers are super savvy right now. And I think they look for stuff like that and any little edge you can get…
Liz:
You know, I do have a store simply because of my smaller listing volume. It does help. I like to take advantage of some of the features of a store, which they go over in this 12 minute video. So it’s not like you’re spending your entire day researching this. It’s a 12 minute video, it’s actually full of slides. I’ll probably talk about it in the Facebook group. This is what they talk about. I mean, there’s a variety of branding features such as billboard logo or marketing banner as well as new possibilities to merchandise your items. Yes. I’m reading this. This is my reading voice, right? On top of that, they have modernized the experience and read the store’s newsletters. And they talk about this in this video. And let me tell you, I did revamp my store banner logo about me and it took me 10 minutes.
Doug:
There you go. Yeah.
Liz:
It’s not perfect. It’s not beautiful. It’s not, you know, Nordstrom quality, but I jumped onto Canva, made something up really quick. eBay gives all the dimensions you need. My About Me is not 20 paragraphs long. It’s like literally three sentences, but it’s there and it’s cohesive for me as a buyer. Do I shop by stores? No, but I’m not every buyer. You know, I’ve been on the platform since before stores, but because of that, I tend to search and shop a different way.
Doug:
I look for stores and I don’t know if that’s cause I used to work at eBay or what, but I look for stores. I like to see and it gives you more, you’re allowed to feature items. It just gives you more leeway in your business, but think of yourself as a business, take a look at the video. Maybe a store’s not for you, but you know, it’s good information just to see that stat, that buyers are more likely to buy from you, basically, if you have a store.
Liz:
eBay and the tools that they provide and the information that they provide is not a one size fits all for every seller. Do what works for you. But if you’re already paying for a store, take advantage of the storefront, they’ve released it too, you’ve heard me talk about mobile before. I really don’t shop a whole lot on mobile, but my buyers do. So I wanna be optimized for them.
Doug:
Yeah. Watch the video, subscribe to the List Rank Sell blog and just, you know, take a look at that SEO eBay info.
Liz:
So really quick since we’re the subject of eBay, eBay did their December Seller Check-in. I think it went pretty smoothly. It felt like it went by really fast. eBay does these eBay Seller Check-ins every month to where eBay execs bring you news and information about what’s coming up, what’s going on? They did really lean heavy into sneakers again and do collectable cards, some sellers don’t. They did eBay automotive too, which really talked a good deal about that. They talked about this new 3D feature that is available right now for select sneaker sellers which will be rolling out. And you know, I don’t sell sneakers. I don’t sell collectible cards and I don’t sell automotive. Why am I excited about this? All of these things drive buyers to eBay. These buyers that typically would not shop on eBay are being enticed to come and shop on eBay with all of these cool tools, features and exclusives. It’s gonna build site confidence and keep them on the site and keep them coming back to spend more money in other categories on the site. Anything that eBay can do that hits a hot market and let’s face it sneakers, automotive and cards right now are hot markets.
Doug:
Yeah. And innovation and growth are good things. And that shows some innovation. And I would imagine it’s likely that the 3D stuff will roll out to other things. And you know, some of the stuff they’re doing they pilot. eBay Auto really is a trendsetter over at eBay too. And they get a lot of stuff. They do a lot of their own stuff and experimentation, but, innovation’s good for just again, to bring traffic and for the industry to see keeping eye on and see that eBay is still, you know, staying relevant,
Liz:
Make sure that you go to sellerevents.ebay.com and you can sign up a couple months in advance and eBay will send you notifications of when they do these seller events.
Doug:
Yeah. And it’s a really cool thing that they do this monthly seller check in. It’s been the last year or so, right? And it’s good to get that insight, get that view. And they include some sellers as well. So that’s good too. Anything else Liz in the news this week?
Liz:
Oh my gosh. I have so much more news, but we just don’t have time for it all Doug <laugh>. We just don’t.
