Transcript

Clara:

Listing Party! How are you?

Trish:

I’m great. How are you?

Doug:

How’s it going?

Clara:

Today we are talking about Boss. Oh, you have the fancy, you have the…

Theresa:

You can’t ever see my t-shirt, so it’s like, it’s, it’s, it’s worthless for me to be…

Clara:

<laugh>

Trish:

My shirt. You know what, Clara? I had a shirt like that on, but somehow I got like a two x and it’s a sleep shirt. It was way too big for me to be wearing, so…

Clara:

No, it’s a camera. You know, you can’t tell, you know. Yeah. <laugh>, I can’t tell.

Trish:

Only I know. I have a Boss Reseller Remix shirt on.

Clara:

That’s, that’s right. That…

Trish:

And I went with Listing Party!

Clara:

Listing Party!

Doug:

Listing Pahty.

Clara:

Oh my God. I love it.

Trish:

I know, I heard It. I heard it.

Clara:

Cheryl Hinton. Oh my God. Cheryl, thank you so much for helping us at the vendor booth. It was a swarm of people. It was okay for those of you that you were not there. I never thought that giving away <laugh> these blankets would be such a success. It was an avalanche of people, because I wanted to, you know, I want you to think Listing Party. This is kind of the, uh, giveaways that we gave. So the idea is Listing Party, you know, and you get your blanket and you start listing. So we wanna make listing fun. Are you from Florida? Are you from Arizona? Don’t worry. I have the summer version. So I came so ready to that BOSS event. It was just incredible. I wanted to be the hostess with the most, and I don’t know if that is, uh, what do you think T?

Trish:

Of course you were. I, I will tell you, I’m a little disappointed you didn’t show up with cases of wine. You would’ve been a person in that room, but I think the blankets were a fabulous second.

Clara:

Oh, thank you. Thank you. Well, the only reason I didn’t show up with the incredible, uh, wine is because we sponsored a List Perfectly party!<Laugh>.

Trish:

This is true. This is true.

Clara:

Special thanks to Jaye Anderson that also helped us at the vendor booth. It was a stampede of people. I was in shock how many people did not know about this perfectly mobile. And I’m like, I’ve been with you three years, and they’re hugging me. I’m not like WeChatting. And I’m like, Yeah, you know, we’re talking about their flow. And I’m like, What? You just released List Perfectly mobile, Uh, no, no. <laugh>. So that was an eyeopener. I was like, All right. I have a lot of work to do. So Jay helped us a lot. Thank you, Jaye, Thank you so much for, uh, being with us supporting List Perfectly, uh, star price. An incredible, incredible supporter. Also, of List Perfectly. Thank you. Thank you, Sonny. As big as I got. Okay. Son, I love your hair. Okay. I love your hair. That’s it. You know, that’s it. You know, Sonny gets the awards for best hair.

Trish:

He gets the hair Award. Exactly.

Clara:

Yes. Yes. Dougie, no longer. Da da da. You know, the, you…

Trish:

Dougie has some, has some competition in the hair department…

Trish:

Competition in the hair room.

Doug:

<laugh> and Sonny’s such a cool guy. I will, uh, tip my cap to him.

Theresa:

There you go, Sonny. It was fun. But what’s, what’s fun, what’s I’m having a lot of fun with now is, uh, and I’m not, you know, I don’t watch a ton of YouTube, but watching the videos come through and sitting down and watching them was like, Wow, I missed, There was a lot of fun and I missed a lot of it, but I had, I mean, there was enough fun to go around.

Trish:

Yeah, it was great. It really was. It was super fun.

Theresa:

It was fun that that room upstairs was packed. The List Perfectly table was packed. Um, and let me tell you, one of my favorite things was when we did the List Perfectly session and, and rolled out all the new features. And, you know, I asked how many people in the room were List Perfectly users, and oh, that was three quarters. 80% of those people were…

Trish:

80% of that room raised their hands. That was crazy. I was shocked by that. That was awesome.

Trish:

That was awesome. And how excited they were about the Listing Party and the new features and, you know, all that sort of stuff. So…

Clara:

No, that…

Theresa:

Good job all around.

Clara:

Ah, thank you. Good job to you Teresa. So let’s start from the beginning. Uh, what would you say was your take Theresa, because to those of you, Teresa Cox not only is the first user of List Perfectly, and the first hostess of, uh, Listing Party session number one, but also she’s an incredible community leader. She created many groups. Okay. One of them is Boss Group. Okay. On Facebook. Then from that Facebook group, she created other things. So, um, there is a, what would you say now, looking back at one year ago, because for those of you, this is round two, a Boss, Boss Remix. So what would you say is your take, you know, from 2021 versus 2022? What would you say was your take? Just to, to, I know a lot, but you know, to keep it summarized

Trish:

Yeah, There’s a lot. So, you know, in, in, for me, in two in last year, in the first year, you know, we relied heavily on our circle of friends and were very appreciative of the people that came and showed up and supported us. And, you know, of course List Perfectly, was at the top of the list. Um, and then in this year that Circle of Friends was still there, but then it grew to a lot of people that are very well known on the Interwebs, but like, I don’t know a lot of these people. And so I was just very impressed at how much it grew at that level and that value in just one year and like next year, like next year. And we had no idea. I mean, we anticipated some growth this year, but we anticipated a lot of growth with our circle of friends. And I think that what this year proved is that our circle of friends just got a whole lot bigger…

Clara:

Bigger. Yep.

Theresa:

I anticipate that to even grow even more so. That’s, that’s a really fun part because, you know, community, we love that. We see people on Instagram, on YouTube, on Facebook, whatever it is. And, you know, you, you stand in line behind them in a, at the taco truck and you have a conversation, and now you’re friends, and now you can really chat with them in person. And so, you know, so that’s a big deal. I love the community aspect of it, and I love that we grew. Yeah. As much as we did.

Clara:

All right. That’s impressive. Um, you know, because it was, to see, what I noticed is people that came last year feeling strangers, now this year, they are like, No, we’re family. And they’re like, to whoever was new. No, no, no, no, no. Let me explain how this works. Okay. You are hooked for life. You, your family, and, uh, you know, we are gonna help each other to grow and, uh, make this happen. And, and that’s what I noticed. And so well done. You know, there is a, there is a, on the 2021 on the Boss Reseller Remix, what would you say, what motivated you guys to do this event, please?

Theresa:

So, and you know, some of you know the story, but maybe, maybe some of you don’t. But, you know, in January of 2020 before the pandemic, eBay announced that they were going to do away with eBay Open in Vegas in July, Katy and Vikki and I decided that, fine, if you’re not gonna have an eBay open, we’ll do our own event. And so even, even replace the eBay Open concept with doing 10, what they call UpFront in 10 different cities. And so their idea was to get out to the community. And then of course they did one in Miami and then the pandemic hit and everything else was virtual. Yeah. And so the pandemic hit, We weren’t able to do it. And we decided last year to, you know, the pandemic certainly wasn’t over, but people were feeling a little more comfortable about traveling and we’re just like, We gotta do this. Let’s just do this. Yeah. And we did it last year and the numbers were a little lower, but there were some people that were anxious about traveling and all that sort of stuff. Yeah. With good cause, because many people left that event with Covid. So anyway, so yeah, this year people are more open about traveling and you know, the word has gotten out and it just, you know, so, so that’s what we started. We knew after the first night of last year that we were absolutely gonna do this again. And, you know, this year sealed the deal again, we will continue to do this. The venue is fabulous, the sponsors are amazing. The attendees are incredible, you know, so yeah, why not keep doing it?

Clara:

Absolutely. No, no, that was incredible. And, uh, now I would say, okay, um, Trish, you were a speaker, right? Um, you know, as a speaker, and you’ve been a speaker for so many different events, Trish, uh, would you please share your experience, you know, because first year you were an attendee, Right? And always collaborating with, um, No,

Trish:

I spoke last year also.

Clara:

Oh, I’m so sorry.

Trish:

Let me interrupt you for a minute. Because Trish spoke on, uh, building, Well, Trish can tell what she spoke on, but something about building her business. But I will tell you that this year I had more people come up to me and tell me that Trish’s presentation last year and her takeaways helped them grow their business.

Clara:

I saw it. These people were hugging her. Hugging her, and crying. Thank you. I saw it. You know, usually, you know, you get that, you know, as a software developer, but to see that as a speaker I witnessed it, and people cry, balling, I did what you told me, and now my life has changed and my business is growing, Thank you, my family, and blah, blah, blah. And also, so it was just, I saw it first as a witness. I kid you not people. Uh, it was very touching, Trish.

Trish:

Thank you for, it really was, it was very touching. I had at least six different people come up to me and say, you know, your presentation last year. And I had two women say to me, Are you doing the same presentation this year? Because we brought somebody with us, We want them to hear it. And I was like, no, I’m sorry. So I said to them, I said to them that I’m gonna try to get it onto one of our, one of our, I’m just putting it out there. This is what I said, that I’d try to get it onto one of our YouTube channels so that maybe we could, you know, I still have the slides. So I was like, I’m gonna try to get it out for you. It was so sweet.

Theresa:

Let me remind you that you did a BOSS virtual meetup.

Trish:

Yeah, with that…

Theresa:

That is, that’s on the BOSS, um, resell remix YouTube channel.

Trish:

Okay, great. That meeting, that’s great. So you can…

Theresa:

Or you can do it yourself, but I’m just saying it is out there for people that want it.

Trish:

Right. And, um, so I appreciate that Patty Coffman really, she started, um, emailing me almost immediately from last year. And through the whole year, she would text me or email me and say, you know, what about this, what about that? And I would help her along in a very small way. I would just give her some words of encouragement. Then, you know, this year she said to me, I’m buying a house and I wouldn’t have bought this house if I didn’t change my business because of you. And I literally had to choke back tears. Cause I was like, Patty, that’s so sweet. And she’s like, I have a room. If you wanna come to Alabama, you can sleep here. And I was like…so it’s so nice. I felt last year that I was able to impart something a different way to look at your business. A more of a business way to look at your business, not to, hold on. I think we hold on to some stuff a little bit too much, and we don’t wanna give up some of the control…

Clara:

Yeah. There you go. I love that, that was the thing. I don’t have to try with you. It just is, that’s the one thing that it is for you guys, this is the reason why I didn’t hesitate to bring Trish on board to the team list perfectly. Because we have the same philosophy with Trish that sometimes we see, and it’s a common thing, we all did it. That’s why we’re talking about it, right, Trish. Right. We did a little over controlling right. On our reselling business or felt too stiff to do it in a certain way. And you don’t even wanna bend a little in that certain way. Right. So I love that you address that. I think that’s, that’s, I, I have so much respect for you, Trish, uh, for touching such a taboo subject, putting resellers, because some people get offended.

Trish:

Oh, they do. And I also, my mantra for the last five years has been, I wanna build a business. I don’t wanna build myself a job. I want my business to continue whether I’m there or not, whether I fly to Las Vegas, whether I get sick when I get home and lay in bed for a week. I want the business to continue. I don’t want a job that stopped because I’m not there to do it. So I wanna build a business, not build myself a job. So that was kind of my mantra last year, and I’m glad it helps some people. It really was very touching. It really was.

Clara:

I’m gonna talk about the covid situation. Honestly, I did not get chihuahua, I didn’t get it. Okay. I did not get it. Uh, Mandy didn’t get it. Okay. Uh, we were fine. Uh, you know, again, you know, I did get my booster. Some people got boosters that I know and still got it. Okay.

Doug:

What I did is I went down to Fremont Street the first night, and then I was immune from everything.

Clara:

<laugh>

Doug:

One little walk, and then you’re good.

Trish:

We keep telling Trish that she shouldn’t lick the doorknobs when she goes to Vegas

Trish:

Every year. I go, every year I lick the doorknobs every year I go.

Doug:

It was a TikTok challenge. What can she do ladies?

Trish:

I know, I need to be hip.

Clara:

<laugh>. Hi. I love it. Aye…

Theresa:

This year we were able to add in a virtual option. And so we hired a videographer to record all the sessions. He’s working on editing those. We’re hoping that those will be done by Monday. But it is a ticket thing. If you go to reseller remix.com, you can purchase a, um, virtual ticket. Um, I believe we only, there’s just a virtual, We had a virtual plus ticket available before the event, and that’ll give you access to all the sessions and some behind the scenes stuff and, um, everything like that. We will, we will probably continue to do the virtual, um, ticket and, uh, again next year and maybe even up it a little bit just depending on, it was, it was well received this year. And so, um, uh, you know, if one thing that Covid taught us is that we can all do a lot of stuff virtually that we never thought we could do before.

Clara:

Exactly. Absolutely.

Theresa:

So we’ll still have an in-person event next year. Um, as a matter of fact, the dates have already been released. If you listen to the eBay for Business podcast, I forgot we did that. And the dates were out there cuz we, we meant to announce it at the end of the event, but we didn’t have a script. We forgot a lot of things. And so the event for next year is, let me get my calendar out just so people know that they are listening. Uhhuh, mark your calendars. It’s going to be October 16th through the 19th.

Clara:

Woo. All right.

Theresa:

Through the 19th. Now, um, if you’re going to book your tickets, you know, this year we had, we’re thinking about changing up the schedule a little bit. So if you’re gonna book your tickets, a lot of people came in Tuesday morning before registration and didn’t do the meet and greet. If you don’t wanna do that extra night in a hotel, come in early on, uh, Monday morning as early as you can, or come in Sunday night. All right. That’s all I can say about that cuz we don’t really have plans. We’ve just kind of talked about things loosely.

Trish:

I cannot believe how many people had on List Perfectly T-shirts.

Clara:

Yeah. Oh yeah.

Trish:

Everyone had a List Perfectly t-shirt on.

Theresa:

So I believe that because I’ve been to List Perfectly headquarters and I’ve seen how many t-shirts they’ve had piled up in the closet forever. So I know that they send them out to a lot of people. But yeah, the List Perfectly t-shirts were everywhere, which was fun to see.

Trish:

Yeah, I mean, they were everywhere you walked in and I was like, Oh, this perfectly, ooh, this perfectly, ooh, this perfectly. It was great. It was great.

Theresa:

There were a handful of people that were masked up and, you know, there were, last year I was really pretty good about it because I was concerned about, you know, coming home and being sick with my mom. And I will tell you, this year I was shocked at how lax I was because for two years I’ve been so vigilant. I was a booster before I got my third booster about two weeks before. So I think I was feeling a little more confident than I probably should because so many people that were boosters still got it. So I was feeling, feeling really lucky.

Clara:

<laugh>. All right, so, so that I have a moment with you in which I couldn’t believe I choked. Okay? So many of you, I met a rock star at this boss event. You introduced me, you and I were like, <laugh>.

Doug:

This is a true story. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Clara choke up like this.

Clara:

I literally, I’m like, can I have a picture with you?

Doug:

I’m not exaggerating.

Trish:

I think Clara’s impersonation of Clara is the best one ever.

Clara:

<laugh>. It was, I kid you not guys, I was like, Oh, Clara, come on, you’re a ceo. You know, you’re supposed to be like, you know, you have Whatnot, you have all kinds of CEOs there and high executives. And I’m like, can I have a picture with you? And then I was so nervous. I forgot my purse in their eBay podcast booth. I, aye, aye, No, no, no. Dogie, please. Can you tell that story?

Doug:

I know nobody knows this, but I worked at eBay for four years, <laugh>, so I get tired of saying it. But I worked at eBay for four years and I was on the seller engagement team and I know a lot of people there, but I was on the team with Brian Burke and then literally this guy, Griff is a legend at eBay. I mean, before I was on the team with him, people would say, Oh, that’s Griff, he’s been here forever. Things like that. And he…

Theresa:

Griff is eBay employee number six.

Doug:

Yeah, that’s right. That’s right. Very early on. He’s been there forever. He base they came to him and he started eBay customer service, eBay community, uh, then eBay radio, and then the eBay for Business podcast. But eBay legend, very nice, very cool, humble guy. Absolutely. And he was there and I know him well. He’s a friend of mine. I said, Clara, do you wanna meet Griff? And then we went into the, and Clara was like, Yes, let’s go. And then we went into the room and it was Griff and he turned around and Clara melted. It would be like if I met Morrissey or something like that.

Clara:

Because I was like, Oh, he’s so humble. Griff is so humble. I was not prepared. You know, usually you are prepared more for people that have a higher level of ego. He was so humble in order to give us advice. And he was just talking to Doug, like giving us a lot of, and they’re speaking like podcast stuff, you know, software and, and, and, and hardware and software that I, I have no clue. Okay. They’re speaking about podcasting. And I felt like, and literally I felt like I was right next to rock stars. So Dougie, that was, thank you so much. Um, it was such a special moment to me. And that picture with, with, with, with, he did so much for eBay that it’s just an honor to go to to have it and, and to be there with him.

Doug:

Yeah, no, that is true. And um, oh, he’s a cool guy. I learned everything I know from him and he’s even very humble about that. So yeah, we talked a little bit about portable recorders and editing and mixers and things like that, so…

Clara:

Yes, yes, yes. That’s right. I’m a fan girl, you know. Oh my God, I <laugh>. No, literally, I was so humble, so happy. Can’t wait to see him again at eBay headquarters. Um, know, but that’s, that’s just, I’m so impressed by his journey and, and his drive to, to and, and, and his loyalty and commitment to eBay and, uh, now incredible. So thank you Dougie for that. Now, Doug, you know, what was your impression, uh, of Reseller Remix 2021 versus 2022? What do you think, what was your take?

Theresa:

Be nice.

Doug:

I mean, I’m never brutally honest, but I’m honest and I love this event. It’s my favorite event. And I think right away when I showed up, I noticed that there were a lot more people. I mean, I stepped into the hotel and bumped into people I knew and, uh, you know, coming up to me in line, waiting to check in and then going over to the meet and greet. Um, you know, just seeing a lot of people I knew, but I also meant a lot of new, new sellers, new family, new seller friends. And I think the scope of it was bigger. There were obviously more people, more sponsors, more, more marketplaces there. It’s always a great event, always great information. And what I love too is there were still people that it was their first seller event, and I talked to a lot of people who talked about being nervous to come and they didn’t know anybody, but when they got there, they felt like everybody was there and supportive.

Doug:

And then just, I think the biggest takeaway for me is the scope and that it’s grown. And I love that overall seller events are back. Yeah. And, you know, this is my favorite event, and it was, it’s always great to see my former eBay people Yeah. And sellers. And sellers that I’ve actually at this point known for years. I bumped into the Letts from Florida. And I said, Oh, I remember we took a picture together in Miami, at Miami UpFront, and they couldn’t believe that I remembered them, but I remembered the picture. Oh, we had it on her phone and she brought it up like that. And they were, they couldn’t believe that I remembered. And it’s, I said, and this is true, I remember people, but names are tough. And a lot of you, I know by your seller name or your, um, you know, your social media handle.

Doug:

But, um, it’s always just great to get out there to reconnect and then to, to, uh, you know, touch base. I think too, in a lot of ways, the growth of List Perfectly too. Like people showing up with List Perfectly shirts and List Perfectly stuff. And that was cool too. And people that I talked to that were, were already users or were interested and, you know, wanted to hear more and were like, Oh, I’ve heard, you know, I’ve heard a lot about you tell me more. So just that too. But, uh, you know, already looking forward to next year, it’s a tiring week. It’s a lot of fun. But, um, yeah. You know, and I know the organizers and, you know, got to hang out with the List Perfectly fam too. So Yeah. Just a great event.

Clara:

Wow. well said. Because that was a common feedback we received, Theresa. And, uh, we keep saying this, List Perfectly has grown. I’m not gonna tell you how many employees that we have grown tremendously, at List Perfectly, has grown a lot Theresa and that was a common feedback that I received. Wow, you guys grown a lot. And I’m like, Yes. How do you think we keep up, you know, with, um, you know, your needs in, um, you know, our business model because we have never changed pricing, at List Perfectly. Never. Never, never. So that was impressive to hear how many people, uh, understood, at List Perfectly has grown tremendously, reminding them that we provide customer care 24/7/365 days of the year. All right. And this is not an automated answer. It’s like, thank you for, uh, sending us to your concern. Our team is working. No, no, no, no, no, no. This is real people. There is a live chat. Okay? So there is no precanned answers unless you choose self help, otherwise, skip, skip, skip, and then you go to a real person. So that was impressive to me. Two takeaways that…three. Okay. A people telling me they didn’t know about LP mobile. B. Okay. I didn’t think List Perfectly grew so much. Somehow people thought we were smaller, and I’m like, No, we’re hiring left and right. Okay. See, I was surprised how many people did not know Theresa, Trish, and Doug that you could, with any marketplace that has a sell similar, you can merge your List Perfectly listings. And in this way, you avoid entering manual data and you still have your pictures, you still have your data. Okay. Your brand, your, the things that you enter in List Perfectly will override whatever it is on that sell similar. So I was surprised how much, how many people did not know about that and the 24/7/365 Day of the year help. So that was my takeaway. Now, Theresa, let’s start with, can we, can we talk about the, uh, different, uh, the incredible people that you guys chose to, uh, present, Okay. Uh, on your event.

Trish:

While we said that a lot of the people there were List Perfectly users, not everybody was. And so what I really liked was people got really excited about Listing Party, and you have to have a List Perfectly accounted to join Listing Party at this point. So they joined List Perfectly. People were like, Oh my gosh, I hadn’t heard of List Perfectly. And, and signed up for it. And then Ed the Reselling Rider was talking about how he was telling somebody in an Uber ride how List Perfectly changed his life and they went and joined. Like that’s, And so the, the ability, there you go. So the ability to actually be able to sit and talk to the CEOs of these companies Yeah. Is priceless. And so I know it’s hard. It’s, you know, you gotta get a dog sit or you gotta get somebody to water your plants, take care of your kids. Um, you know, all that sort of stuff. It’s hard. It, it’s a commitment to get there. But the networking, the individual conversations, you know, the selfies with people that you’ve only watched on YouTube, the fun, the learning, the edu, like all these things make it so worthwhile. So I would just wanted to say that because um, yeah, you know, I think that the fact that the vendor room where you could actually talk to people, Mercari was there, This is the first event Mercari has ever been to.

Clara:

<laugh>.

Trish:

And yes. And I would say to them, like, I went up to talk to the vendors and, um, I was asking him, and he’s, and what the, uh, Jeffrey was there and he said, I feel like we need a sign that says, Yes, we heard you. We need four by six shipping labels. <laugh>. Yeah. And yes, we heard you, We need a custom SKU. Because that, apparently, was the thing that he kept hearing about from, um, from sellers. My point is, is that, and we talked about this, is to, if we, you knew what, what, um, marketplaces were gonna be there and what sponsors create your list of things, questions, comments, um, ideas, concerns, and these are the people to take them to and talk to them about because they will, that’s why they’re there to hear from the people. So, um, you know, List Perfectly. And, and I just thought it was funny that by, I don’t know, middle of day two, the Mercari folks were like, we heard you, we heard you go away. Stop <laugh>.

Doug:

We’ll see though.

Trish:

I would just like to see that. I thought it amazing that there was such a round of applause and so much interest in Listing Party when <laugh>, it’s a hard concept to get across what you’re talking about. And it didn’t matter. They were just excited that List Perfectly was coming out with something new. They were all into it. It was thunderous applause for this thing that they weren’t even sure what it was. It didn’t matter. We were just excited. And I really have to say that I thought that that had a lot to say about us as a company, that they already get so much value out of List Perfectly. That they knew when something new was gonna come along, that it was only gonna add more value. And so they were thrilled that Amanda and Clara and you, Theresa, were up there talking about something and they weren’t even a hundred percent sure what it was. And they were all down and it was great. It was just great. I thought that was, I thought that really said a lot about List Perfectly on a whole, on as a whole. I really did.

Clara:

So we wanna give the recognition to Theresa Cox, she was the first hostess of our listing party and meet and greet with Theresa and Doug. Uh, so that was amazing. Co-host. Yes, there are listings. Alright. As you can see people sharing listings already. Uh, they let us know where those listings in what marketplaces are, who is their lister. We have a directory of people. Alright. Look at the directory already of people. Look at the amount of people already signed up, you know, so we have so many pages already, and then we have our profile. So this is Listing Party. So many more live events. So exciting. Um, that was, that was really, really, really powerful. We timed launching features, uh, listing parties. Literally Amanda was coding until five minutes we presented and then we launched it. And uh, so we got that launch listing party, then we got the famous <laugh>. So now moving forward, when you get sales, List Perfectly will notify you of sales. And this is for all business and pro plan members. This is available already. And, uh, it’s, that is incredible. We’re excited, uh, for you to get notifications of, and it’s like the first step Okay. For auto release, which we know you wanted. So that was our thing. We’ll talk about it, you know, Then I love the teaser also that we did to the crowd. Um, so then, uh, Katy says, Clara made a mistake and didn’t even bring the laptop, she promised. And I start getting boo woo, you know, like, yeah, I didn’t bring it. Instead, instead of bringing the Microsoft Surface tablet, I made a mistake and I brought the MacBook

Trish:

That was fun. That really was.

Theresa:

That was a fun tease because you could see like the, the, the promo and the promotion was that List Perfectly gave away two Chromebooks. That was at the end. But after their session, they were giving away a Microsoft Surface Pro and everyone was all excited. And what happened was packing Clara grabbed the wrong box, very innocent mistake, but because it’s List Perfectly. And I tell Clara , she’s the Argentina Oprah <laugh>, they can say, We’ll send it to you. They’re like, Okay, well we’ll give you this MacBook Pro and Katy lobbed that in there and set it up perfectly. Okay. You guys we’re sorry List Perfectly and everyone was going. And do these people not know List Perfectly? List Perfectly always over delivers. I was a little disappointed in the crowd, but they did not see it coming.

Clara:

I can’t believe they fell for it.

Trish:

They fell for it.

Clara:

I’m so like, how could you, like, how could you betray us? It was almost like a betrayal.

Trish:

Yeah. They were like, What? And then, and then they said they brought the MacBook Pro and it was cheers. Like, oh my gosh, gosh, it was amazing. So it was fun. That was fun, it was like a rose color and it came with a printer and the person that won it, Philip, was a guy. And so I was talking about afterwards and I was asking him about it and he said, Well, pink is my new favorite color. <laugh>, I thought about it. It was, it was, Those are the kind of things that when you’re there, unexpected, completely organic, that will live in List Perfectly and BOSS Reseller Remix folklore forever because you put something that could have been a disaster and turned it into something that was 10 times better.

Clara:

Yeah. So the way it works is, I, I buy laptops in bulk. Okay? So I get deals like anybody, right? The same I did with the blankets, but I, I never expected that to be such a frenzy. So don’t worry. I have a whole garage. You know, when I stop being a reseller, I was like, Wow, finally I’m not gonna have inventory. Now my whole house is full <laugh>. Oh, I look like, it’s like Best Buy from, uh, I have to have cameras because I have a team. I have to have Macs, I have to have Windows, I have to have tablets. Oh, I know, I look like a little, like Best Buy, you know, And then my garage is full of blankets. Okay. Those blankets, I got such a screaming deal. I bought like boxes. Like literally I must have like 30 boxes of them in box, like has like eight blankets. Just to give you an idea. Just do the calculation. So, you know, I still have that reseller mentality, you know, that I buy in bulk and I get a deal, you know, and, and, and you go to Costco. So where’s the manager? You know, <laugh>, <laugh>. So once a reseller, always a reseller. I have to say, I had a blast. It was incredible. Um, so let’s talk a little right now. Um, you know, let’s talk about the speakers. That is, I’m very interested, you know, for those of you that did not have a chance to attend in person this event, or you will not subscribe to, to the virtual BOSS Reseller Remix that you should. You should, you should. Okay. Um, so if you’re not doing that, we’re gonna do like a little, little summary. Okay. But we can’t give you the secret sauce, Right? So we’re gonna talk about a little, so we have day one, Okay. On Tuesday 11th. Okay. We had Laura Franzeca (mi80baby), Stewart White (Franklin Hill Ventures), Danica Gowan (ladyluckjunk). Okay. I love them. Okay. Talking about seller success stories. So I thought that that was a great way to get started. If anything, that is the feedback that I got. These people wanted more of that. What did you think T?

Trish:

Yeah, so to be honest with you, I, um, know who the speakers were. I saw the first part of, um, one session, and that was it because I was running around. But the idea was starting, I mean, you hit the nail on the head, Clara, the idea of starting the conference off with this panel where these people were at Reseller Remix last year, and they were doing some kind of business, something sparked their, in their head, their lit a fire under them, whatever you wanna call it, last year. And they spent the next, the past year refining their business, changing their habits, being accountable, all those sort of things. And now they’re at a totally different place. And so it was really like, Hey, these guys did it last year. Take your notes, do your stuff, and you could be in a totally different place this time next year. Yep. And so, um, I didn’t hear them, I mean, of course I know the stories, um, of the sellers and how they did it and what they did. Um, you know, mostly Laura, Uh, Laura Laura is a completely different seller than she was last year.

Clara:

Oh, why, why, why, why, why, why do tell.

Trish:

So with her, and I know she’s, she’s an admin in the BOSS group. So we have an admin chat and just with her, what I noticed is her, they have an accountability group every Monday morning and it’s like, these are my goals for the day, These are my goals for the week, these are my goals for the quarter. And this is, and so just by, I mean, and these are, you know, people in a camera, but having that accountability, it’s like, oh my gosh, it’s 10 o’clock and I haven’t listed my stuff, my three things yet. I’ve gotta list these three things so that next Monday, I can say that I listed three things every day.

Clara:

Okay. All right. So she got organized and committed to a process, which is the key. This is the, this is what happens with these events. Okay. You realize, okay, that you’re getting out of your comfort zone to go above in the end. And that’s what I love about the, the, the resell ceramics. Uh, I think that was incredible. You know, thank you for sharing. I also think Stewart White and Danica also have grown so much. Stewart White. Okay guys, uh, for those of you, we have an episode on the Seller Community podcast, of List Perfectly with Stewart White. His growth from last year to this year, uh, is just incredible. What he’s done is expand to brick and mortar, and then he uses List Perfectly catalog to photograph his receipts and everything that he does with brick and mortar. So now he uses the inventory management of LP as his centralized inventory dashboard for brick and mortar and online. And now his brick and mortar is growing exponentially as his online business is growing too. On the Seller Community podcast, season two, episode 30 one Stewart White, Dusty, Fun and Growing <laugh>. There you have it. Okay. So, and for, and he does not do clothing. Okay. So that’s important that you see, um, how Stewart White, so and Danica, what can I say about Danica? Right?

Trish:

She is so fun. She really is. Did you guys see her, um, costume? Doug? You saw it.

Doug:

Yeah. The Zoltar was probably the single greatest costume I’ve seen.

Trish:

It was the best thing…

Theresa:

It was the best, it was the best costume ever, but it was the best costume for Fremont ever.

Trish:

Oh, it was unreal. It was unreal. I mean, and there’s video of her walking down and people are coming up. People who don’t know her, not resellers wanting photos. It was great. She was saying…

Clara:

Too funny. Too funny. Then that same day we had Charis Marquez from eBay, Raymond Nieves from eBay, Ken Gaitano, The Hustle Bee, Austin Smith, Yesterday’s Fits. So, um, what did you think about that? Uh, T? T Money?

Trish:

So that was a panel. I didn’t see any of that panel, but I know what the idea behind it was. Um, Charis from eBay, uh, and was from eBay authentication. And, um, Ken Hustlebee was there and he is a huge sneakerhead. And then of course, uh, Jesse and Austin from Yesterday’s Fits are sneakerheads. And so, you know, speaking to that audience, I’m not a sneakerhead, but I do know from people that were there that I’ve heard from, that they, they really appreciated, they, they get to see behind the scenes of how eBay’s authentication works.

Trish:

That was very interesting, really. That really was.

Trish:

How did you get to hear all these things? I’m just kidding. <laugh>.

Trish:

No, I, I was doing registration and so when there was a lull, I would go like this over to the edge. I did not hear at all, but I did hear a little bit about the authentication. It was really interesting.

Trish:

Yeah. So I’m looking forward to it. I am very grateful and appreciative that we got these on, on recording because last year I got to see, you know, bits and pieces of them. And this year I will absolutely, um, not do it like eBay Open where I haven’t watched one video yet, but I will absolutely watch the videos and learn from those topics.

Clara:

No, no, Incredible. So that day would be the closing. Okay. Um, you know, and then we’re ready for the next day. Next day. Jess Oman (The Business of Reselling Podcast). Did you have a chance to hear that Trish?

Trish:

I listened to about half of it from upstairs on the balcony. She was great. That was interesting, She’s from Canada. What did I say she was from? Okay. No, she’s still in Canada. <laugh>, Some of the things are interesting cuz she would say like, I’m not sure how that transfers for most of you, but it was really great. It was more about the business of reselling, about having a business rather than a job. So I really did appreciate what she had to say because that’s my philosophy on this. Yeah. I wanna build a business. I don’t wanna build myself more work. So I really did get a lot of what she had to say out of that. I think that would be a great one. I really am looking forward to listening to that whole thing.

Trish:

She does have a podcast, The Business of Reselling. She has a master’s degree in business and she and her husband started selling. So I, um, to I, on some trip I got caught up on all our podcasts. She’s got maybe five or six, maybe seven or eight by now. Um, and I really liked it because it is the business side of things and she does explain to you how to, uh, think about things and how, how, how do you know whether you should grow and how do you know if you’re growing at the right rate and all the, I’m just all the business side of things. I like how there you go. I like how she takes her reselling experience and her master’s degree in business and merges the two and tries to teach us.

Clara:

Great. Great. I love that. You know, I think it’s, it’s again, you know, sharing your passion when you add your specific spice and twist to your, um, reselling business, It just, it just shows, you know, it’s like me adding, you know, my legal background, uh, for my reselling is just, it, it was something that I truly enjoyed. Especially when I have to, you know, reseller returns and disputes and customer abuse, you know, typical they yank, they use it and then they return it and I’m like, I’m not Walmart, I’m not Target. You know, So that was, I think to have more resellers, um, merging their passion in this case, you know, her mba, you know, and then putting it on the podcast and then helping everybody. That’s a free resource, right? There is a, you don’t have to pay to listen to it. Yep. Awesome. So then who is this? Clara Albornoz and Amanda Morse at 11:00 AM presenting List Perfectly and Listing Party. What was that about?

Trish:

I don’t know. I missed that whole thing. <laugh>. It was so, it was so the room was so quiet when that happened. I don’t know. <laugh> Doug, did you hear it? Cause it was, you know, I don’t know.

Doug:

I actually did see it and hear it and it, it was, it was great.

Trish:

It was, it was great. It was great. And that’s what I was talking about earlier. The crowd went crazy and they didn’t even know what they were going crazy about. It was great. It was great.

Clara:

It was too cute. It was just so cute that they were so, because I was so excited if you were not there, you know, I was so excited. We presented Listing Party. We were so excited. You know, we saw a lot of people wearing the Listing Party hat, so that was very cute. Um, you know, and to see everybody excited about it. Listing Party to those of you that are not there is the first platform for resellers by resellers where we can meet and interact with each other. You create your profile, you can choose, you know, whether this person has ex, they’re gonna tell you what’s experience, what’s your favorite platform. They’re gonna share listings. You can learn from each other. Why? Because eCommerce is big enough for all of us. So come and join the party where you can even hire VAs that are vetted by List Perfectly. Okay. You can join. This is being casted right now. Live. You don’t have to anymore. You don’t like YouTube done perfectly. Stay in List Perfectly because now it’s got, it’s being streamed live at the same time concurrently in Listing Party. And you can access these at the moment. It’s only for List Perfectly members. How much are you paying extra Dougie for Listing Party?

Doug:

Nothing.

Clara:

Wait, what?

Doug:

Nothing. It’s an amazing thing. I’m super excited coming from a community background and I love that. You know, like Clara said, it’s the first platform from resellers to resellers. It’s gonna be a huge integration. There’s a lot coming. Get on over and please create your profile. And like I said in a post this morning, you never know what’s going on over there. And remember ladies, gentlemen, Snoop Dougie is always happy to party with you.

Trish:

<laugh> and it’s just a little baby. It’s gonna grow. And you know, I’m thrilled to be able to see what’s gonna happen. It’s exciting.

Clara:

Yes, absolutely. That was really fun. You know, we had a lot of fun at creating Listing Party. This is just the beginning. Um, you know, if you’re feeling formal Yeah, that’s normal because we’re gonna have a lot of free giveaways.

Trish:

I know from my listing one oh one call on Wednesday. That there was somebody on there that was, that was at the Reseller Remix that came to, um, came to the event kind of being shy and like, Oh my gosh, I’m in my own world and all this sort of stuff. And she said that she got to Reseller Remix and she realized there’s this whole world of people just like me.

Clara:

Yes.

Theresa:

So and so, you know, and then of course she’s the List Perfectly user. And then, you know, of course we have the List Perfectly community and then the, you know, the intersection of those two is quite large. Yeah. But the idea of keeping the event small, um, I think it was Gina said something about the size of the event. Um, Yes. And you know, it is our intention to keep it at the Nevada Center for the Blind. It’s so it’s just a great venue, um, for that. And because of that, there is a limitation. I think that all in, we can have 450 people, um, total there because of, um, the space…

Clara:

<laugh> who sold something?

Trish:

Who sold something?

Clara:

Oh, you sold something. I love it. That’s real. That’s a cha-ching from LP guys <laugh>.

Trish:

So, um, so anyway, so yeah, so, so it’ll never have the big eBay Open, you know, two to 3000 people feel to it. And it’s always been planned to keep it at a boutique level, which is great for sellers that might have a little bit of anxiety or get overwhelmed in large cloud crowds or any of those kinds of things. So just, just, I know that there was a, I’ve seen, I saw two or three different questions about it. So just to address that, that’s the goal anyway.

Doug:

And I’ll jump in. We talked about this yesterday in our Listing Party there, for those of you new to seller events that went to Boss, if you wanna continue this, that’s what Listing Party is for.

Clara:

BOSS Reseller Remix. They have a page on Instagram. This is another free resource already. They are okay. Resources for you. There are freebies and stuff. Here are the speakers. Okay. Chris and Julie. Mark Tew was a vendor. Okay. It is incredible. Josh Varnell. We love him. Okay, here it is. You know, Ralli Roots. Oh my goodness. So many people look at the schedule.

Trish:

Even the guests. We had so many big YouTuber, big reseller, well known in the community that were just there, bought a ticket and wanted to show up and that, I mean, let’s be honest, a lot of them, I didn’t know who they were, <laugh> they had on me. Cause I don’t consume Youtube, I just, I just don’t watch YouTube. But yeah, so there’s, you know, the speakers were great, the guests were great, the vendors were great. Like it was just, it was great. We’re still on a high over it. I’m still exhausted, but we’re still on a high.

Clara:

We announced the Prop Plus which is an incredible plan that is ideal for those of you like Ryan and Alli, that have an assistant in that you wanna effectively assign listings with different credentials and different user IDs within the same List Perfectly membership. So, and we’re gonna coming soon, okay, it’s gonna start very basic, but this is the plan that we’re gonna allow CSV uploads. That’s not gonna, it’s coming, not yet, but I’m so excited. I’m so excited. We’re having a lot of where is, where was the Listing Party? The party is happening right now on List Perfectly Platform. You can go, you can watch this in YouTube, but if you don’t wanna, uh, create a YouTube account. There you go. There you have it. Okay. At Listing Party, you just go with List Perfectly, uh, credentials and you log in. Okay. And here it is, listingparty.com. And it’s a channel also as well on, uh, at List Perfectly platform. Of course, I don’t wanna wrap this up without saying, you know, Trish, your presentation about social media essentials. Trish, if you can give us a teaser and a giveaway, I did not have a chance to attend that. But if I was still a full-time reseller, what would you say to me? And without of course, violating their copyright, uh, of, uh, the Bosses. Okay, what would you say? Please?

Trish:

I would say that if you’re a niche seller, if you sell something very niche that you can market, you can use your social media to market to those people. If you’re a more general seller, maybe you should be marketing yourself. So you are more widely known within the reseller community and that, you know, the more people know you, the more deals come your way. The more you can, you know, more things come your way. If the more you put out, the more you get back in. If that makes sense.

Clara:

What do I do if I’m shy like myself? Okay, Those of you that know…No, I am, when it comes to, I’ll show you I’m stupid. I know when it comes to social media, I don’t like to publish my personal business. So that’s why, let’s look at this case. Trish, what would you say to me? And those sellers, Okay, many sellers that we are in this situation, in my case, I just use this. See, I just use List Perfectly to Crosspost. So these are listings that I cross posted with List Perfectly. You can see there, you know, List Perfectly does all the, all the hashtags, you know, and this is how I pro I promoted myself. You know, here I would put, you know how I, I was multichannel and I could have LinkedIn, you know, um, uh, link, Okay, Yeah. Top rated seller and so forth. So I literally, if you look at my account, right, it’s literally close. Close. And you gotta scroll down all the way. I think that only once I put myself, look, I worked at a top rated seller. That’s the one time that I got, you know, you know, because I was always a top rated seller. I put my packages to show, Hey, look, this is what I’m, what I’m cheaping every day. But I didn’t feel comfortable promoting myself.

Trish:

And that’s perfectly fine. There are lots of accounts that people never show their face that they do. Ex Oh, there you’re

Clara:

<laugh>. That’s the only picture. July 26th, 2017 when I was doing a, uh, I was sourcing on Alameda Flea Market in San Francisco, and that’s in, in Oakland. Actually, Alameda Flea market is in Oakland. So I was sourcing, so I was able to get away a little in the, on the way to the Redwoods. That was the only picture that I did to promote myself. And it was so hard for me. I cannot even tell you how hard it was for me to do that uh, Trish.

Trish:

I think a lot of people feel the way you do. They don’t wanna, we do this, this is a solitary job. There’s a lot of people who do this because they, you know, we don’t wanna deal with the people. We don’t like people, as some of you guys say <laugh>. So I think if you’re not really, you can, you don’t ever have to put your face in it. There are some very big YouTubers who never show their face. They just show the clothes or they just show the, the, um, shopping. They never show. They just show the sourcing. So there are different ways to do this. You do not have to put yourself out there if you’re not ready to. Absolutely.

Clara:

Don’t copy anybody. Be yourself.

Trish:

No. Be yourself. Absolutely.

Clara:

Okay. Don’t try to put your face like that, you know, if everybody’s doing it, just be yourself. Because that’s what people wanna see. You know? And just remember, maybe you wanna do a post about your mission or vision, you know, I resale because I’m saving, uh, money for my daughter to go to college.

Trish:

Right? You know, right.

Clara:

It’s important for us, uh, buyers because now I’m mainly a buyer. So it’s important. I would say the main takeaway that I took, the little that I heard, you know, it’s like you said, you know, communicate. What is it that you say? Communicate a little more about yourself. What is it that you said, Trish?

Trish:

Or why do we wanna know your why, Why? What’s your why? Why do you do this? I think that’s important for yourself to know too. Why do you do this? You know, why are you a retailer? Why do you wanna be on social media? Maybe you don’t wanna be, maybe you’ve decided you just wanna be a content, you know, you just wanna consume content. Maybe you don’t wanna make content. And Exactly there is, right? Nobody can be a better you than you.

Clara:

Exactly.

Trish:

And hashtags are super important. That is right. That’s one thing we learned. Hashtags. And you always want to tag s evers in your photos. You wanna give credit to where people, where your photos come from. People don’t mind if you use their things as long as you give them credit.

Clara:

Thank you, thank you. Remember, social media is meant to share. Alright? That’s, and it’s free. So what you’re doing is redirecting that Instagram audience to your email store, to your Poshmark closet, okay? Get out of that mentality that you wanna steal traffic from them. Then get the transaction out of the marketplace and then you don’t wanna pay whatever. It’s just, so don’t waste your time on dramaramma, I promise. That’s how I did it. I have no investors, zero investors. I still don’t have any free plans in List Perfectly, nothing. Zero. I build it all with my reseller income. What Trish is selling. I kid you not, it’s word, like we say, word, <laugh>. Word, word. So well said Trish. I was so excited about that Dougie, what did you think? Were you there for the live Whatnot event, please?

Doug:

I did see, uh, most of that. I thought it was super interesting. I actually, I obviously know Whatnot is, but I hadn’t seen it in action before. Um, and that was great. But what was super, it was interesting to see, and I love all the live selling stuff and you know how that’s all coming up, but I loved how everybody came together and raised so much money for the Blind Center of Nevada. I mean, that was, that was impressive. And then, you know, like a super shoutout to my good friend Ken The Hustlebee. He bought a hat for quite a bit and then donated it back right away, just like that and then…

Theresa:

$618 for a baseball cap. And then we were giving some, then he donated it back so that we could give it away for a giveaway. But what was really cool was that we had some of those hats for, um, as giveaways. And then every time he gave it away, someone’s like, This is a $618 hat. So that was kind of fun.

Clara:

I love it.

Theresa:

And it always feels good to be, to give back to the Blind Center. They are so good to us. They go above and beyond. Um, we couldn’t do this event at another place where we have to order the tablecloths and have the chairs delivered and worry about them, the chef is amazing. The food was great. Yeah. This is what that building was built for. And for those of you that aren’t familiar with the Blind Center, they built that building using their reselling money from reselling recycled, um, electronic parts. And they are eBay sellers. So just like Clara used her, Clara and Amanda used their reseller money to build List Perfectly. The Blind Center of Nevada used their, um, their money from their business to build this building with the intention of renting it out for events. So I love, I love that. We can give it back. We’ll give back. We will probably implement something like that every year where we can raise money.

Clara:

Verified eBay refurbisher. So just imagine the mission they have. Look at that, look at that. And they refurbish What a mission. This could be junk that is sent to third world countries. I kid you not. That’s how we make money. And in third world countries, we buy junk. Okay. And then we buried and then we got stuff and, and illnesses. These people are reducing landfills, reducing trash by recycling. And they got their certification from eBay. Okay. Responsible recycling and eBay certified official refurbisher. So what a mission, what a great choice that is. Uh, uh, thank you for choosing this event, this place.

Trish:

You know, like we said, we like to have a small boutique feeling. They treat us so well. Um, I think their staff is amazing. They have the best house band ever.

Trish:

Uh Huh,

Trish:

The Broken Spectacles.

Doug:

The Broken Spectacles. That’s right.

Theresa:

They just, um, bought a food truck.

Trish:

Food truck was delicious. And that was their…

Clara:

The burger, the burger.

Trish:

But that was their…

Clara:

Finally, finally they put an egg. In Argentina we put egg, everything. And Americans like eggs for breakfast. And I’m like, No eggs. First lunch, dinner for everything. And they put an egg on the burger guys. Oh, it felt like literally it’s like you mix, you know, because America, that’s the best burgers in the world, period. Okay. Period. So it was putting that, and then with that little egg, I felt calm literally. And, and I, and I have no time. People would still come and talk to me. And I was like, and I’m getting, because we’re presenting Listing Party, right? So I hide behind and I’m facing literally, this is how I eat. I have to face a wall. And then I, and so because people are waiting in line still to say hi, and I’m like, I want a bite. I really want a bit of something so…

Trish:

I’m hungry.

Clara:

Yes. Oh, so hungry. And it was like eight, nine hours of solid talking.

Trish:

And Josh told me that that was their soft opening, that they had never used the truck before. It wasn’t completely finished. That it still needed to be wrapped. They didn’t think it was done for another like six weeks. But that was their soft opening. They did such a great job. They really did. That was awesome, it was awesome.

Theresa:

So to take that full circle, they got the idea from the Reseller Remix last year where we brought in food trucks and they were like, Hey, do you mind if we take this idea? And I’m like, No. As long as you will come and be at our event too.

Clara:

Food! Just give us the food!

Trish:

It was good. I think I have a picture. I just looked, I know I took a picture of it. I don’t remember what the name was. It had a great name, like the Broken Spectacle, but I can’t remember…

Clara:

I leave the best for last…

Trish:

It’s like Lights Out or something like that.

Doug:

Yeah. Lights out.

Clara:

Lights out. So yes. Uh, I just wanna close with something also before, you know, of course, you know, to those of you that realized the last day, okay, on October 13, I barely showed up to the event. I got the most terrible hernia. My sciatica, literally my lumbar, my, my lumbar, my sciatica, vertebrae. I was in so much pain. Even with meds, I was in pain. So by the time we have to do the at List Perfectly party, it’s so funny because Dani Akerman tells me, Oh, loosen up Clara come on. And I’m like, Oh, if I get up, I’m gonna get another hernia. You know? So that’s when I was like, okay, you know, this is not working, you know, and, and you know, I have to lick my wounds and leave the party early. So that was, I’ll be honest, Theresa, that was a bummer. I was bummed down and uh, I got pictures, I wish.

Trish:

But you know what? You…

Clara:

You know what, it sucks.

Clara:

Freaking sucks.

Trish:

No, it absolutely does.

Clara:

It’s arthritis.

Trish:

You hung in there. For anybody that has ever gone to a trade show or a con conference or anything, or worked it, they are long, hard days. And it doesn’t matter if you’re an attendee, if you’re putting it on, if you’re a vendor, you’re working a booth. They’re just long hard days. So, you know what, kudos to you, Clara, for hanging in there for as long as you did. I mean, cuz you know, we know, we know your issues. Well, no, we don’t know all your issues. We know you know some of that…

Clara:

Some of that, you know, you know the issues.

Trish:

I know. No, no need to apologize for, you know, for, you know, slipping out early. Absolutely not.

Clara:

Yeah. No. So next year, I think I’m gonna skip the meet and greet, Okay. Unless, you know, is something I thought the meet greet was a little, the karaoke was a little loud. And what was tough for me was that there was no AC and that literally, I was talking to My Reseller Genie, and I’m like, and I’m dripping here, right? And they’re like, oh man, I’m talking to eBay. Except, you know, I’m talking to people and I’m dripping here. Like, it’s not looking professional. And I’m trying to make it like <laugh>, you know, like, and I dunno…

Trish:

All your trade secrets, Clara, nobody probably noticed. But now you just gave away all your secrets.

Clara:

I was horrified that it’s, I was horrified. I agree with those of you that I talked and I was sweating profusely.

Theresa:

We thought that karaoke was gonna be an option. And so, and we only had, we only had half the space. Okay? Next year we either need a different space or all of that space. We haven’t had our debriefing yet. Um, you know, we know it was, it was a little tight in there. And, um, so what, what <laugh> I was with you on the yeah.

Trish:

It was drippy for a little while. <laugh> <laugh>.

Theresa:

I love it. That’s funny. Anyway, so yeah. So, you know, uh, live and learn. Year two we’re still learning and growing and yes. You know, by <laugh>, hopefully by, I don’t wanna say by year three, but, or year five, but we will get better every year, let’s just say that. Yes.

Clara:

And I wanna get better at presenting List Perfectly. I thought that the music that we chose for Listing Party when we presented it was not up beat enough. And, uh, on the videos that we present, I heard a lot of this and that, and I wanted to be more descriptive. So I really wanna present List Perfectly better.

Trish:

Clara, you’re giving away all your secrets. Nobody else is gonna know that the music wasn’t as upbeat as you would like it <laugh>.

Clara:

Oh, I am so…this is the one thing I’m not criticizing myself, you know, as you see, it’s not…but I love to be aware, okay, my audience and these I carry through as being a reseller for me. My audience is everything. My customers are everything. So I just want, I want you to know that I will do a better job next year at presenting List Perfectly and, uh, making it, making it every time better. You know? And, uh, I, I love the presentation that we did with Doug on FlipCon, but I also think that we can do so much better Dougie, right?

Doug:

Oh yeah. Oh yeah. It’s so, you know, always a learning experience. And you know, we did four events in what, two months <laugh> so you traveled all over.

Clara:

Yep.

Trish:

Here’s the thing there. Nobody can say that you’re not authentic.

Clara:

Thank you. Thank you, thank you. I leave my heart, I leave my heart there, you know, and, uh, you know, I’m a reseller at heart that happened to become a CEO of a software company because hey, it’s what happens. But I just know that I’m with you and, uh, you know, I’m so happy. Just to give you an idea, it took me almost a year to convince Mercair to come and show up at this event. So it was hard, it was incredible. I was, that was, if I’m gonna take the one thing that I put on my shoulders, it is convincing Mercari and convincing that resellers like you, Theresa and Trish, no, sorry, Dougie your five bins of inventory doesn’t count. Okay? But bigger resellers like us shouldn’t be banned on Mercari. So I just wanna let you know, many, many times I don’t get myself credit, but that one I’ll give myself credit because we absolutely worked so hard on that.

Theresa:

And we say, you know, it was huge, it was huge for us. We loved having Mercari there and it wouldn’t have been there without, um, List Perfectly and that Mercari List Perfectly partnership. Um, and I did talk to Mercari quite a bit and they absolutely loved it. They were great at that, and they said, we’re so glad. That List Perfectly convinced us that we needed to be here. Yeah. So I’m hopeful that they will be there next year. A lot of things were, you know, people didn’t find out about it in time. So we will be reaching out to all the sponsors and any potential sponsors early so that they will be able to put it on their calendar and, you know, plan to have a team there and plan to have swag and plan, you know, all the stuff that, it’s a lot of work and planning for the sponsors as well to go into these.

Trish:

Unless you’ve been on the other side of the, you don’t realize, like in a corporate world, everything’s planned out a year ahead. So they don’t have the ability to pivot. Whereas List Perfectly has the ability to pivot because it’s Clara and Amanda and they don’t have to be beholden to anybody else. But when you are in a normal corporate structure, this stuff is planned out a long way in advance.

Clara:

So can I give a teaser of who I got you for next year? Can I, can I Come on, let’s do it. Are you sure? They begged me. They begged me and I literally, I was, it’s too late. And I was like, it’s too late.

Theresa:

I hope it doesn’t change with the, with the, with the changes…

Trish:

I was gonna say, with all the…

Clara:

If it changes, it changes, but I don’t think so, you know, so I attended PoshFest in the, I had the incredible opportunity of meeting the new chief financial officer, Rodrigo from Brazil. I’m from Argentina. Literally. We’re like, of course, Rodrigo, sorry, with my Porteno. Okay. I promise. Okay, I’ll get better with, uh, my Portuguese. So I literally am talking with Manish and, uh, the different executives of Poshmark and then they know about the Reseller Remix and it’s like literally two weeks away and they’re like, Oh, we’ll be part of it. And I’m like, this year, you know, it’s just, it’s late, you know, right now, but let’s, let’s get it together for next year. So they’re very excited coming 2023, Poshmark is excited to be in BOSS Reseller Remix. And literally they are, they were like, Ooh, we wanna be part of this. And I was like, you should be part, you know, this is for all of us resellers. I told them other marketplaces would be there. So I’m super excited for you. Theresa.

Trish:

And we, again, we wouldn’t have the ear of the PoshMark people without List Perfectly. And so what, it’s my personal goal to have the sponsors at Boss Reseller Remix from all the platforms that List Perfectly supports. That to me would be like a full circle. And then, you know how we have, this is in my mind, this is how we think, you know, how we have the little platform real, like, I wanna get a picture with all the execs so that, you know, you have the eBay exec and the List Perfectly, and the Poshmark and the Mercari, and we can overlay that with the logo.

Clara:

Yes. I would like you to, I would like Theresa, Katy and Vikki next year to pass through the vendor booth with your, uh, camera…

Trish:

Absolutely. We got, we got…

Clara:

And then get us on a picture the first day, all of us together. I would really like that for us vendors to have like a little, uh, maybe…

Trish:

One on one time. Absolutely.

Clara:

A little breakfast. Give us a little, even if it is just a coffee cup, you know, and, and, and, one donut, Okay, But just give us something because I would love, that’s the one thing that I regret. Sorry, I love you team Mercari. I love everybody. Vendor’ WorthPoint. eBay. I didn’t get a picture with them. I think I was so busy because literally sellers were coming like, and there was a line before, you know, <laugh>

Trish:

That first day was a little intense. It was, but you know what, it was great. The energy in that room. That’s what I heard from all the vendors. The energy was amazing. The sellers were excited, the vendors were excited, Everybody was just excited to be there. So, um, in that energy flowed through the rest of the week as well so…

Clara:

We gotta get the ear for Grailed that, you know, ooh, big announcement for Grailed. Countdown, Countdown, Grailed. We’re having a big announcement with Grailed. We got Grailedto just at least show up their little sponsor we did. And, you know, get them to show up at, uh, next year. You know, we gotta get team Grailed to show up there. And, uh, I’m excited because in a couple of weeks they have a big announcement. We’re gonna be doing a big announcement also with Grailedin that I can’t wait for Grailed on Reseller Remix 2023 to maybe do a presentation or to uh, maybe open up about, you know, features or anything else. This is the event. If you’re a vendor, this is the event where you gotta think, okay, of organic promotion because they’re doing so well at promoting, they already got the audience. Okay. They got their stuff together. So if you’re a vendor, what you wanna do, okay, is really come to this event and be ready, you know, to just mingle with the audience and the people because it’s such an incredible experience. It’ll change your business. The feedback, um, the camaraderie, the mixers, the breakout sessions, the, the, the lunches. So for me as a vendor was very, yes, I, I know that we all have something better, A lot, a lot to learn, but uh, as a vendor was such a learning experience and uh, I can’t wait to see the other vendors next year because we had such a great time with the vendors.

Trish:

They showed up, everybody was there, and they were there for business. They showed up, they took notes, they listened to what the sellers had to say, You know, what more can you ask for?

Trish:

And I would just like to say that the one takeaway that I really had was that you got to talk to vendors, they answered your questions. eBay was great. If you had any issues, the LP table was the hub. That is true. Everyone was around LP the whole time. But it was great because you did get to talk one on one with these vendors and if you had any issues or questions or concerns, yes, they really were there to answer them. So that was awesome.

Theresa:

In the post sense, I’ve seen so many people, like they didn’t know what wholesale was and they created their first wholesale lot. People have signed up with My Reseller Genie. People are getting WorthPoint subscriptions, um, you know, List Perfectly subscriptions, all that sort of stuff. So, you know, it’s, it’s why, it’s why they go to talk to us. And so I was glad to see that sellers made use of that time.

Clara:

Yes, absolutely. What an event. Reseller Remix 2023. You still have time to do we still have time to go to the Reseller Remix Virtual Teresa? Do we, do we, do we?

Trish:

Virtual tickets are gonna be available all year. If it’s in June and you’re just hearing about what a great thing it is, you can go and hear about all the, um, you can buy a virtual ticket and see all the sessions. Doesn’t matter if it’s June, July.

Clara:

Yeah. Oh, that is amazing. Well done. There is a, there you have it. Nothing. Are you having FOMO? Don’t worry about it. Okay. The team. Okay. The BOSS  team, they fixed it. Okay. And you can anytime, anytime. Okay. You can, um, subscribe and then, uh, how much is it there? Is it free? Is it, how much do I pay? Or how does it work?

Trish:

The virtual is $50.

Clara:

$50.

Trish:

$50. You can have access to all the one time fee, one time fee.

Clara:

So do I get to watch things once and that’s it? Or can I rewatch it?

Theresa:

I’m not exactly sure how we set it up on account, but um, we, and you can watch it over, You can watch it over and over and you can watch it

Clara:

Over. I’m kinda like those people. Okay. That I need to like, you know, I watch something and then I go and I wait like two, three days and then I wanna watch it again with a different perspective, with a different mindset and you know that Okay, that’s awesome because I wanna make sure you know people because we don’t wanna be recording something, you know what I’m saying? There is a shortcut. So I love that you put the capacity of repeating, uh, the sessions.

Theresa:

Yeah, yeah. So yeah, you’ll get it. I believe you’ll get a code. Yeah, we were talking about, we changed some things at the last minute, so that’s why I’m a little unsure about it and Katy’s handling of that.

Clara:

All right. And uh, hey, I also heard you have a BOSS channel, is that correct? The YouTube channel?

Trish:

There is a BOSS YouTube channel. It might have two or three videos on it. Mostly probably from the BOSS virtual meetups. And next year our goal is to have the virtual be live, which takes the whole crew to do. And so, um, we’re looking into that in some possibilities.

Clara:

There you have it. Thank you so much everybody. Bye.

Doug:

Thanks everybody.
